Since its inception over 20 years ago, AITEC has demonstrated a strong capability to manage the delivery of complex education, training and workforce development projects and programs in Australia and overseas.
Some of the programs for which AITEC has been responsible include:
Defence Engineering Internship Program (DEIP)
The Defence Engineering Internship Partnership Program was an initiative of the Australian Government represented by the Department of Defence.
It was an exciting initiative that provided Australian defence Small to Medium sized Enterprises (SMEs) with the opportunity to market defence industry as an innovative, interesting and viable career path to engineering students. Through the Program, high performing 3rd and 4th year (or equivalent) engineering students undertook a sponsored 12-week work placement in one of the firms. From 2012-13 to 2017-18, DEIP paired 30 selected engineering students each year with defence industry SMEs from around Australia with outstanding results but has now concluded.
Voluntary Dental Graduate Year Program (VDGYP)
AITEC was engaged for the establishment of this 3-year program and the promotion, recruitment and matching of 50 Dental graduates with public oral healthcare service providers across Australia for a 12-month placement. AITEC provided the web-based systems and facilities and all management and administration as well as paying all salaries for graduates and mentors, incentives and substantial dental infrastructure funding under the program. AITEC also managed the delivery of a specially-designed and developed on-line curriculum for the graduates in combination with industry-specialist webinars and graduate e-portfolios. AITEC achieved excellent outcomes and feedback in both independent external evaluations and internal evaluations.
Oral Health Therapist Graduate Year Program (OHTGYP)

Working with business, industry, parents and families and the wider community, AITEC developed strategic partnerships to address issues and constraints that prevent young people from achieving their potential to attain Year 12 or equivalent education. AITEC also used this strategic approach to support the enhanced educational outcomes for Aboriginal young people and those for whom social inclusion wa not aligned with educational achievement (e.g. refugees and similar humanitarian challenges).
Masters in Marine Engineering Program (MME)
AITEC established and managed the Masters in Marine Engineering program to support ASC's submarine and naval ship engineering workforce development. AITEC worked with specialist providers to develop a strong marine-focused program spanning hull, electrical, signature, mechanical and systems to serve the needs of the national industry.
In just months, this unique industry-focused Australian program was designed, approved, developed and implemented.
